FFFN is now on Wednesdays?!?!

Hello loyal readers!

I'm Karl Laubacher and I hope that all of you are very excited for the second semester of shows on WLTL! They started yesterday and we're all very happy with our on-air DJ talent! For those of who didn't know, I have a talk show with my good friend and music director, Collin Thomas, called FFFN (pronounced Triple F N.).  This was a part time creation we had on Friday nights at 11 o'clock after our regular programming is over, but no longer! We have moved to the big time, know as Wednesday nights from 7 to 8.  Yes, we know it’s no longer a Friday night thing, so we should adjust the name, but FFFN rolled off the tongue too well for us to change it.  For all of you wonder what in the heck FFFN is, well Collin and I just talk about some topics that interest us and sometimes we get on tangents and ramble and sometimes we get silly and argue about some very ridiculous things.  But we keep it light hearted and fun, but we need you to get in on the action! During our show, one of us is checking the FFFN twitter feed for listen feed back, so tweet at us during the show using the name @FFFNradio to answer a poll question or just to say hi! We also have a blog that has been mostly football as of right now, at fffn.posterous.com so be sure to check in often to see what were up to.  We love our fans and we think they are the best in radio land, so let us know who you are!

Keep listening!

Karl

The Pro Bowl?

Well it’s that time of year again.  No I’m not talking about the Super Bowl, I’m talking about the Pro Bowl.  Yes, you hear me right, one of the worst “all-star” games that can be seen on television.  This game is a joke, and that’s what 99% of America takes it as.  Nothing more, nothing less.  The NBA has the best All Star game by far, because the players lay their heart out on the court, playing their hardest to represent their team and league to their fullest.  Baseball, there is something to play for, home field advantage.  True it may seem stupid, but it makes it interesting because the players play their heart out for that privilege in the World Series.  In the NFL though, players go half hearted with nothing at stake, and that they don’t want to injure anyone.  One play I can remember last year was that Adrian Peterson shedded off a wimpy Polomalu tackler.  In the regular season, Troy would have gone full speed if it was the regular season, and taken him down in a sinch.  Give the players some incentive to play for, this would make it better to watch(also good job moving the Pro Bowl to the weekend before the Super Bowl, more viewers that way).

Rock-a-thon is 31 days away!!

Hey everyone!!

Alex Smart, Rock-a-thon Director here.  Our once a year, continuous 88.1 hour fundraiser called Rock-a-thon is a mere month away!  The event is from Friday, February 17th to Monday, February 20th and is simulcasted on the high school television station, LTTV.  This is the one time of the year that we ask the community for its support through pledges and donations to help us improve the station and in order for us to continue to effectively service the community, which is our goal as a station.  Rock-a-thon is always a lot of fun, so be sure to keep listening to WLTL and checking out our website as Rock-a-thon 2012 gets closer!

Also coming up is a pre-Rock-a-thon fundraiser on Tuesday, February 7th at the Westchester McDonald's on 31st Street and Wolf Road.  We are going to be there from 4-8 PM playing music and giving away merchandise to try and raise money that will go toward Rock-a-thon 2012!  We will be posting a flyer on our website and Facebook pages that you can bring into McDonald's stating that 25% of your purchase will go directly to WLTL, which is a great way for you to support us!  Also by coming to the event, you can meet Julianontheradio from the B96 Morning Show, J and Julian, from 4-6 PM with a special Ronald McDonald appearance at 5:30!  Be sure to stay tuned to WLTL and the continue to check the website as we will be posting more info soon about that event!

But in the mean time, keep listening to WLTL La Grange where everything else is just radio!

Welcome Back To Reality

Well its back to reality. School is back and with it are all the frustrations. However there is one light in this dark abyss. What is that you may ask? It’s WLTL of course. Coming back after couple weeks off to a new semester is never easy, but since we have to at least WLTL is there to have some fun. I mean at least its easy right not like we have big things coming up like tryouts and Rock-A-Thon, only two of the biggest events of the year for us not a big deal. I guess when we all come back from vacations its never easy and we all have thing we left on our desk that we have to deal with when we return. Whether we like it or not work must be done. There is a second thing for us seniors though. It’s our final semester at WLTL. Its hard not to be excited for the future and the adventures it holds for us. The hard part is leaving places like WLTL behind. Now is the time for doing because for us seniors there is no more next year, next semester, next week, because if we wait, we leave it to the next year. The people the memories, experiences, and bonds formed will out last our time at WLTL, but we never will be able to go back in time and sit in the station and finish what we failed to finish.  As we go through our bitter sweet last semester at WLTL all f us have to finish strong, especially us second semester seniors.
